Just two days before Halloween, we visited the pumpkin patch today. We started with the corn maze, finding the four spots to stamp our card to win some necklaces for the girls. After some snacks and peeking at the animals in the petting zoo, the girls picked out their pumpkins. Here are some pics of today's fun...
Just as I am getting ready to post this, the weather has warmed up into the 80's. We had Fall last week, cool crisp weather, and apple picking at Riley's Farm...
Today I took the girls up to go apple-picking in Oak Glen. We went with their friends, Noah, Elliana and Kennedy (maybe K can get some apple-sauce made from our local farms this year). Towards the end of our excursion, the kids had climbed onto a gate to look at some horses. I saw at my feet two dandelion round white seed heads and thought to myself, "I wonder if Syd will notice them?" And once she hopped down from the fence, she did. She picked them carefully, not to prematurely remove any little seedlings. Then she proceeded to blow them all off. This picture captures a few seedlings flying off and away. Syd has done this so many times before and this is the first time I have been able to capture it, forever.
Well, maybe it is still a couple weeks in the coming, but the anticipation of Fall started with some cooler weather. So we (Jodie and I) took the kids (S, M, N, E) up to Lake Arrowhead for some morning fun. The kids fed the ducks, went on the swings, rode a train, ate lunch at Woody's (outdoors until the bees drove us inside), and took a lot of pictures. Then we headed home with some chocolate chip cookies to enjoy in the car (thanks Jodie). Here are some of the pics from yesterday....
