Lahaina & Icee's

We drove to Lahaina to visit the big old banyan tree.  Syd "climbed" the banyan tree, thanks to grandpa's encouragement.
 

 

 

Yesterday after naps, I took the girls for a special treat... rainbow flavored shaved ice.  Mine was more sophisticated... lychee mango. Yum!

Whales, Peacocks, & Surfing Goats

Last night we went to a beachfront hotel to watch the sunset from the ocean cliffs.  We were surprised to see a few whales between us and the setting sun.

 

 

Today, we spotted a wild peacock in an empty fruit stand by the beach.  It seemed to want something on the menu, but it did not really mind me following it around like a paparazzi.

 

And then we drove to Surfing Goat Dairy in Kula to see some baby goats and taste some great (expensive) cheese.



Syd just loved petting the baby goats, even as they nibbled on her fingers. 

 

Mel did not seem as enthralled by the baby goats, but the local ranch dogs kept wanting to play fetch with her.  Maybe someday she will be a "dog whisperer" like her daddy.
