At the end of dinner Syd asked me "mom, what's on a monkey's butt?" I said "what?!" She asked again. I had no idea that at the zoo she got a close-up look at many male gorilla butts. So how does her pediatrician mom answer such a question? With this ..... "bacteria!"

Julia and Gorillas
Today Syd had a great day.... she took her dad and her Bumpa and Makah to the Wild Animal Park in San Diego. The day there ended with a merry-go round ride and some ice cream. They came home to a Julia Child's-like recipe for Beef Bourguignon. Bumpa and Makah started that in the slow-cooker before they left for the zoo. And dinner company included her grandpa from Maui.
