Sunshine, Sand, & Shades

Today was our first official visit to the beach for this vacation with the girls.   Well, we went last night, but Syd was so spooked by the gentle waves that crashed onto the shore, that she ran away from the sand as fast as she could!

With bathing suits, sunscreen, and new shades, the girls were excited to play at the beach.  Just a short drive down the hill and we were there.  Fortunately, Mel conquered her fear of walking in sand and got right to playing.  Syd, still scared of the waves and water, also took some baby steps in conquering her fear.  After a lot of coaxing and reassuring, she was splashing her feet and hands in the water that would just barely cover her feet.
