When we decided to have a third child, Steve requested that we wait until the baby was born to discover if it was a boy or another girl. It almost killed me, in the beginning, but then I figured it was not such a big deal, and the planning I thought I needed to do could wait a while. So about a month ago we "discovered" that our third baby would likely be a girl... my OB slipped on the sex of the baby, but then took it back and said he really did not know. Not knowing what to think or do, I came home and told Steve, who took the "news" very badly. It took a couple weeks for him to accept the possibility of another girl.
So when the moment came, one week ago, and I pushed out our third child, Steve had the honor of seeing the baby and telling me if it was a boy or girl. He turned to me with a boyish smile of excitement.
Steve: Guess what?! (pause that seemed to last an eternity) It's a boy!
Me: Are you sure?
Steve (taking another look at the baby): Yes!!!

Evan is a much much much desired boy in our family. I have decided to take weekly pictures of Evan to chronicle how he changes in just one year's time. It is an idea inspired by my friend, Tiffany, of Tiffany Hankla Photography as she chronicled her son in weekly photos.

Congratulations Michelle!!! I was just thinking about you and wondering when you were due. He is adorable and how exciting to finally get your little boy. Can't wait to see more of him on your blog.
