Needing to let the girls run around, we headed to a kid park in the sand. Mel was in heaven, swinging around. Syd met a bearded dragon, Marla and pet her tummy. Then came a long bike ride up and down the boardwalk with Mel taking a nap in the chariot. Everyone enjoyed some ice cream treats before we had to hunt down the guy who operates the carousel and ferris wheel -- Syd HAD to ride them or no one was going to be happy! Mel wasn't too thrilled on the carousel, gripping onto Steve's shirt the entire time. But she had plenty of time to relax on the extra long ride on the ferris wheel. While walking to the car Syd stopped to tell a store clerk that she rode the "ferris wheel and the wheelbarrow!"
We finally had a chance to meet up with The Hunts for dinner at their house and we were able to meet each other's kids for the first time! I'm amazed how much different twins are than two single children!!!
It was a late night drive home with the girls asleep in the car. Several times Mel cried while asleep, almost like mini night terrors. Once we got home they both were virtually catatonic when we had to get them into their pajamas. But Syd had enough energy left in her to tell me "that was fun!" And this morning when I woke her up, her first question to me was, "where are we going today?!!"
