Mac'N'Cheese

A few nights ago, as the girls ate some Macaroni & Cheese, Steve and I reflected on how different our childhood diets were.... he said he really never had the famous Mac'n'Cheese while I wanted (but was never allowed) to eat it every day. When I prepare it for my girls (and some for me) I can never separate the flashbacks of my sister and I fighting over whose turn it was to lick the spoon, which was always speckled with tiny clumps of cheesy goodness. Or the flashback of me trying to sneakily watch my mom's favorite soap opera, All My Children, at lunchtime.

As Steve and I were talking, Syd asked us what the macaroni was doing on her spoon. We both just shook our heads in confusion and I told her to eat her food. She asked again and we both paused, studied 2 macaroni pieces on her spoon (this exact photo was a missed opportunity) and then examined her facial expression. We got it, and then we all had a good laugh. It might take you a second or two...
